Susanne Toney, Ph.D.

Dr. Toney is a proud alumna of Hampton University and currently serves as Chairperson for the Center for Entrepreneurship, Economics, Finance and Accounting. She is an active member of the University Community, serving as the Faculty Advisor for Enactus (a network of leaders committed to using business as a catalyst for positive social and environmental impact.), the HU Student Managed Investment Fund, and the Real Estate Club. She is an advocate for students with a strong track record of support.

Dr. Toney is a Duke University Diversity Initiative for Tenure in Economics (DITE) fellow and Sam Walton Fellow, a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, Beta Gamma Sigma, American Economic Association, Southern Economic Association, Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession, the Ph.D. Project, and the National Economics Association. She has received several research grants and frequently presents her research at national and regional conferences. She has published articles in the areas of economics and business. Her research interests include entrepreneurship, urban economics, migration, quality of life, and economic education.
