Esther Diskin serves as Director of Communications and an Upper School English teacher at Norfolk Academy. Over her years at the school, she served as a member of the school's steering committee for its strategic plan and as co-chair of the school's 10year accreditation report, and she has won the school's  awards for teaching, the Massey Teaching Award (2007)  and the Waitzer Master Teacher Award (2013). Prior to coming to Norfolk Academy, she worked as a reporter and editor at The Virginian-Pilot. Her reporting on the religion, values, and ethics beat earned her a Knight Foundation Fellowship. She is a member of the Tidewater Chapter Board of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC) and of the Jewish Community Relations Council.
